Newburgh Writers’ Hub

Harrie Mulé, Artistic Director at Make a Scene© Productions (Make a Scene© Productions – The Creative Life) will host the November Writer’s Hub at the Newburgh Free Library.  Learn how to transform significant life experiences into compelling narratives and begin chapters for your memoir or novel.  Each session will concentrate on a different aspect of writing, allowing participants to enhance their skills progressively. The format encourages sharing and receiving constructive feedback, and for those interested, tips for storytelling performances will be included, enriching the overall experience. All levels are welcomed.

How to Create a Character Monologue and Perform It!

Like the Rocky Balboa monologue to never give up, monologues are small pieces of art unto itself. In this workshop you will learn what makes a good monologue, the unique elements of a monologue, how to create a character based on a fictional or real person, and acting tips for performing your piece. The last class culminates in a presentation of class monologues for those who would like to participate, and students can invite guests. All in a fun and supportive environment! No experience necessary.
