Character Monologue Workshop

August 18 @ 5:00 pm - August 27 @ 7:00 pm
$100 – $120

Ever wondered what it would be like to create a character—and step into their shoes for a few minutes?

In this workshop, you’ll create a fictional or nonfictional character and develop a short monologue in their voice.

Through guided writing exercises and simple storytelling techniques, we’ll explore what your character wants, what they have to say, and how to turn those ideas into a monologue that feels alive and engaging.

Then we’ll take it off the page. Using a few approachable acting techniques, you’ll have the chance to experiment with your character’s voice, point of view, and presence—and discover what happens when you try the words out loud.

This isn’t about becoming an actor or giving a perfect performance. It’s about creating something, trying something new, and experiencing the fun of bringing a character to life.

At the end, you’ll have the opportunity to share or perform your monologue for the group. Performing is always optional.

No experience needed. Just curiosity and a willingness to give it a try.

Cost: $100 Residents | $120 non-residents

Write it. Shape it. Try it out loud.

What they say…

“I tried something new, wrote my first monologue, and did something I didn’t think I could—I performed it!”
